Both East Juniata soccer teams will play for District IV championships this weekend. The second-seeded girls advanced with a 5-1 win over Northumberland Christian, while the boys move on thanks to a 4-0 victory over Southern Columbia. The two-seed Tiger boys will play at top-seeded Millville on Saturday at seven, while the EJ girls host Southern Columbia, at four on Saturday. Eighth-seeded SC has defeated the one and four seeds so far.

Today, the Belleville Mennonite boy’s soccer team plays for a district title. BMS takes on Bishop Carroll for the D6 Class A championship tonight at six at Bald Eagle Area.

And the Steelers yesterday traded for Jets linebacker Avery Wiilliamson. Pittsburgh gives up its fifth round pick next year but does get back a seventh.
