The Mifflin County School District is working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to help process “contact tracing” of a Mifflin County Junior High School student who is a probable positive COVID-19 case. According to DOH guidelines, a probable or presumed positive would be someone who has not been tested for COVID19, but was a close contact to a positive case, and developed symptoms during his or her quarantine period. The last day this student was in the school was Monday, October 5th. The student became symptomatic the following day (October 6th). Once all “contact tracing” is complete, the DOH or the school district will contact any students and staff that will need to quarantine. Quarantining will last 14 days for individuals who had “close contact ’ with the student. The school district administration will monitor the situation and will keep parents apprised.
