The Pennsylvania State Police advises residents to remain vigilant this election season for election-related scams. While the State Police is not aware of any specific scams, many scammers operate across state and international borders and may contact Pennsylvania residents. Scammers representing fake candidates may ask for personal information or donations. They may also ask you to make purchases such as gift cards. Callers could also impersonate pollsters to get personal information. If you feel you have fallen victim to a scam, report it to local police. Information on political action committees (PAC) or candidates can be found at the Federal Election Commission website. For information on voting and elections, visit the Pennsylvania Department of State website.
