The 48th annual Juniata County CROP 5k Fun Walk/Run will be Sunday, October 11, at Walker Township Park, Mifflintown. We recently caught up with one of the event’s organizers, Pastor Graham Fowler (pictured). You can listen to our conversation with him at the bottom of the page.

Registration starts at 1:30 p.m. and the walk starts at 2:00 p.m.

This year our walk will be a hybrid walk.  You can walk in-person at the park.  If you do, please wear a mask when you arrive.  You will show your registration form to a volunteer and place it in a collection box.  Then hang out (socially distanced) until our opening worship and the start of the walk.  Once we spread out on the track you can remove your mask.  OR, stay at home and join us through Facebook Live.  Share a picture, let us know how much you’ve collected, and walk in your own neighborhood.

CROP Walks support Church World Service as they partner with hunger ministries in the United States and around the world.  As part of that partnership, 25% of the funds our CROP Walk raises will go to the Juniata County Food Pantry and Juniata County Meals on Wheels.

This year’s coordinating team for the CROP Walk. Kathy Whitesel, Becky Zeigler, Kathy Lehman, Graham Fowler (Absent Hannah Bashore).

There is no registration fee.  Instead, you are asked to collect donations from friends and turn in those donations on the day of the walk.  Make checks out to CWS/CROP.

You can register online at www.crophungerwalk.org/mifflintownpa.  Your supporters can make their donations online if they would like.

Or get a collection envelope by emailing Graham Fowler at gfowler66@gmail.com or calling the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church Office at (717) 463-3138.

If you have friends that like to walk together, form a team.  You can include team information with your online registration or when you register the day of the walk.
