Juniata’s boy’s cross country team (pictured), led by overall winner Garrett Baublitz, has won another Tri-Valley team championship. The Indian girls did not have enough runners to qualify for the team standings but still got an overall win from freshman Emily Houtz.

Juniata’s boys soccer team blanked Millersburg yesterday, 2-0. Lower Dauphin nipped the Mifflin County boys, 1-0. Upper Dauphin, meanwhile, shut out East Juniata, 2-0. Also yesterday, Lower Dauphin’s girls held Mifflin County scoreless for a 4-0 victory.

In area field hockey, East Juniata lost to Susquenita, 6-0.

Belleville Mennonite alum Olivia Bell (pictured), a freshman for the Mansfield field hockey team, scored her first college goal in the Mountaineers’ 2-1 overtime win over Slippery Rock.

Three local women are a part of the Lock Haven University soccer team that is now ranked fourth in the Atlantic Region, even receiving some national votes in the latest polling. Mifflin County alum Haley Predix is on the team, as are Janelle and Josie Swartz.

The Flyers’ home opener didn’t go as planned, as San Jose came in and blew out the home team, 8-2. Philly hits the road tonight, taking on Ottawa.

Juniata College holds at #6 in the latest Division III women’s college volleyball rankings. Calvin is still number one.

And the Big Ten Network will broadcast live from Penn State University this Saturday morning, as the Nittany Lions get set to host Michigan State on Saturday.
