The Penn State women’s basketball team trailed by as much as 24 before clawing back within six in the final minutes, but the comeback attempt fell just short as Stony Brook earned an 81-70 win at the Bryce Jordan Center.

For the 29th consecutive season, the Penn State women’s volleyball team will serve as one of the 16 sites for the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament, this time as the No. 8 overall seed. The tournament will start in University Park on Nov. 30 with a 5 p.m. match between Syracuse and Yale, and the second match of the night at 7:30 p.m. will feature the host Nittany Lions and Howard.

Jake Elliott kicked a 43-yard field goal with 22 seconds remaining, and the Eagles beat the New York Giants 25-22 after trailing 12-0 early and 19-14 in the fourth quarter.

Ben Roethlisberger didn’t see Shelby Harris when he intercepted his pass to Antonio Brown from the Denver 2 with 1:03 remaining, sealing the Broncos’ 24-17 win that snapped the Pittsburgh Steelers’ six-game winning streak.

Jimmy Butler made a 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds remaining to give the Philadelphia 76ers a 127-125 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
