A big night for area sports. The East Juniata girls soccer team takes on Camp Hill for a berth in this Saturday’s state championship game. Tonight’s state semifinal will be played at 5:30 at Central Dauphin High School. Also tonight, Greenwood and Newport play in a state field hockey semifinal. That one will be played at seven tonight at West Perry High School.

In the NHL this evening, the Penguins host Buffalo and the Flyers are in Minnesota.

Joel Embiid and Robert Covington combined for 63 points as the Sixers took a road win from the Los Angeles Clippers last night, 109-105. Ben Simmons added 22 more for Philadelphia.

In the NFL, Carolina cruised past Miami, 45-21.

Penn State is the unanimous number one in the latest Division I women’s college volleyball rankings. Texas is number two, with Florida checking in at number three.
