Mifflin County’s softball team has won the Mid-Penn Conference tournament. The Huskies beat Greencastle-Antrim, 7-2, in yesterday’s title game. The Huskies are the top seed in the upcoming District VI six-A tournament. They’ll play the State College-Altoona winner for the championship on Wednesday.

Juniata is also a conference champ. The Indians baseball team yesterday nipped Susquenita, 1-0, to capture the Tri-Valley title. The Indians will play Mount Union in the first round of the district tournament this afternoon.

Just four hits on the day for Mifflin County baseball as the Huskies lost to Boiling Springs yesterday, 10-1. Mifflin County will enter the district tournament as the three-seed and take on Altoona this Monday afternoon.

Adam Frazier drove in four runs as the Pirates beat the visiting Washington Nationals yesterday, 10-4. The Phillies, meanwhile, have lost four straight, falling in Texas yesterday, 8-4.

In the Eastern League, a couple of early afternoon games yesterday. Bowie beat Harrisburg, 9-2, and Binghamton topped Altoona, 8-5.

Mifflin County alum Addison Monroe has been selected to compete in this year’s NCAA Division II track & field national championships. Monroe will enter the 10,000 as the 11-seed. That race is scheduled for next Thursday in Bradenton, Florida.

Anaheim beat Nashville in overtime, 3-2, to even that NHL Western Conference final at two games each. Game Four of the Eastern Conference final is tonight when Ottawa hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins. Senators lead the best-of-seven, two games to one.

Also this evening, Game Two of the Eastern Conference finals in the NBA. Boston looks to even things at a game apiece in the best-of-seven when Cleveland comes calling.
