Mifflin County’s district baseball semifinal with Altoona was postponed yesterday. They’ll try again on Monday at five. On Wednesday, the Huskies softball team will play today’s winner between Altoona and State College for the district 6A title.

State College and Altoona finished one-two, with Mifflin County third, in both the boys and girls District 6, Class AAA, track & field championships yesterday. Chayce Macknair with a couple of individual golds for the Huskies, finishing first in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Seth Phillips also won a district title, taking the 800. The Mifflin County 4×800 relay also took gold. For the Husky girls, Skylar Ciccolini finished first in the javelin.

Phillies over St. Louis yesterday, 6-2. The Pirates beat San Diego, 5-4.

A crazy one in Altoona yesterday. The Curve led Portland 7-0 after five but the Sea Dogs rebounded to take a 9-7 lead with a half-inning to go. Altoona scored two in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extras. Portland 12, Curve 9, the final in 10. Harrisburg and Richmond were postponed.

A big one for the 5-2 Mifflin County Tomahawks tomorrow, as undefeated DuBois comes calling. ‘Hawks head coach Brian Rodgers joins the Merf Morning Show at 8:35 to preview the game.

And the Juniata Valley Striders will hold their track & field championships today and tomorrow at Mifflin County High School. Some events go off this evening at five while the rest start tomorrow morning at nine. Find all the details and the event schedule on Merf Radio’s Facebook or Twitter page.
