Juniata High School won five Class AA track & field district championships yesterday at Altoona’s Mansion Park. Garrett Baublitz won two individual titles, taking the 800 and 1,600-meter runs. Jeremiah Parson won the 400 and Chase Lehman the pole vault. The Indians also won the 4×400 relay. Also advancing to states via districts is Wil Tyson, who was second in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the 110 hurdles. For the girls, Zoe Burns advances as the third place finisher in the 100. Also moving on is the 4×100 relay team, which also came in third.

Bald Eagle Area outscored Juniata’s boys, 12-8. Jamie Bailer with three hits for the Indians in defeat. Devon Nealman and Nathan Berry added a pair of hits each.

Rough day for the Phillies and Pirates. The Fightin’s were beaten by Milwaukee, 5-2, while the Bucs were blown out in Arizona, 11-1.

In Eastern League play, Harrisburg blanked Trenton, 5-0, while Altoona held off Binghamton, 9-8.

And Milwaukee took Game One of the NBA’s Eastern Conference finals, taking down Toronto, 108-100.
