Juniata High School swimmer Sydney Houtz finished sixth in the state in last evening’s final of the 100 butterfly. The junior will take part in the 100 backstroke today.

Mifflin County’s boys tennis team lost to Central Dauphin yesterday. Five to nothing the final score.

Susquehanna eliminated the Greenwood girls from the PIAA basketball tournament. Wildcats take the 46-36 loss in the state’s round of sixteen.

We’re one week away from the start of the NCAA wrestling championships. Penn State will take three number one seeds and three number two seeds into the tourney. North Carolina State’s Hayden Hidlay, meanwhile, is the five-seed at 157 pounds. The redshirt sophomore out of Mifflin County High School finished as NCAA runner-up last season. Edinboro redshirt freshman Jacob Oliver, out of Huntingdon Area High School, also made the NCAA championships. He’ll compete in the 174-pound division.

Tenth-seeded Penn State takes on seven-seed Minnesota in the Big Ten men’s basketball quarterfinals today. Tip for that one is seven o’clock from the United Center in Chicago.

The Phillies and Yankees tied at five yesterday. The Bucs had the day off.

And, in the NHL tonight, the Flyers host Washington, while the Pens are in Buffalo.
