Penn State’s only game against Indiana this regular season was not a good one for the Nittany Lions. Hoosiers 74, Lions 70.

Juniata’s girls won. Kevin Kodish’s squad got 25 points from Josie Swartz in a 59-45 victory over Halifax. In other girls action last night, Mifflin County’s Eleana Eckley scored 29 points in a 69-40 win over Central Dauphin East. Greenwood’s girls bested Line Mountain, 47-38. And East Juniata topped Upper Dauphin, 42-31, thanks in part to a 14-point effort from Alyssa Robinson. On the boys wide, CD East beat Mifflin County, 47-34. Tyreen Smalley led the Huskies with 11 points.

In area wrestling, Juniata fell to Mifflinburg, 43-31. The Indians got pins from Tyler Wileman and Evan Renninger in the setback. Also last night, Mount Union rolled Juniata Valley, 78-3.

In the pool, Mifflin County’s girls swim team beat Chambersburg, 88-82. Hannah Bonson, Morgan Robinette and Macy Becker with a pair of individual wins each for the Huskies. The MC boys, however, lost to Chambersburg, 99-71. Isaac Ironcloud did manage a pair of solo wins for the Huskies. Ethan Andrews also won a solo event for Mifflin County.

And Penn State finished eighth in both major college football polls. It was the second straight year the Lions earned a Top 10 national finish.
