The Penguins picked up a 6-2 victory over the visiting New York Islanders last night. The Flyers, meanwhile, lost in overtime, at home, to Columbus, 4-3.

Tennessee’s Derrick Henry rushed for a franchise-record 238 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Titans past Jacksonville, 30-9, in the NFL’s Week 14 opener. Sunday at 4:25, the Eagles are in Dallas and the Steelers are in Oakland.

A big weekend for men’s hockey locally, as #9 Penn State hosts fifth-ranked Notre Dame tonight and tomorrow night. The Lions are currently riding a three-game winless streak.

There will be a mandatory meeting for Juniata High School baseball players and their parents this Sunday afternoon at two. The meeting will take place in the Tuscarora Junior High cafeteria.

Penn State faces Washington this evening in the round of 16 at the women’s volleyball championships. The Lions entered the tournament seeded eighth overall.

And good luck to that group of young Juniata Valley Striders that are in Reno, Nevada, this weekend for the USATF Cross Country Championships. A total of 10 Striders qualified for the national event.
