Russell Wilson threw three touchdown passes, the last a 15-yard strike to J.D. McKissic with 7:29 left, and the Seahawks stayed in the NFC playoff hunt with a 24-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last night.

The 9-2 Steelers will try to reclaim the top seed in the AFC when they play in Cincinnati tonight.

Congratulations to East Juniata alum Trevor Goodling. Trevor, a freshman for Messiah, and his Falcon teammates won the NCAA Division III men’s soccer national championship with a 2-1 win over North Park. Goodling played in seven games for Messiah in his first year with the program.

Mifflin County alum Hayden Hidlay, a redshirt freshman for North Carolina State, won by pin at 157 pounds against Chattanooga on Saturday.

Penn State will play Washington in the December 30th Fiesta Bowl. The Nittany Lions are 2-0 all-time against the Huskies, but the wins came in 1983 and 1921.

Penn State’s top-ranked wrestling team, meanwhile, took out #7 Lehigh, 23-19. The Lions dual meet win streak is now up to 35 straight.

And in other Penn State news, the top-seeded women’s volleyball team is into the NCAA’s third round. The Lions take on Missouri this coming Friday for a berth in the national quarterfinals.

The Lady Lions basketball team, meanwhile, took out Manhattan, 78-46.
