Cedar Cliff pounded out 18 hits in a 14-6 win over Mifflin County’s baseball team. Tyreen Smalley with two of the Huskies’ five hits on the afternoon. Elsewhere yesterday, Cedar Cliff’s girls defeated Mifflin County, 6-4, in a game that saw the teams combine for seven errors. Also yesterday, Penns Valley shut out the Juniata softball team, 12-0.

Mets over the Phillies in New York last night. Fightin’s outfielder Bryce Harper was tossed in the fourth inning of the 5-1 loss. The Pirates, meanwhile, lost to visiting Arizona, 12-4.

The Sixers will try and wrap up a berth in the NBA’s Eastern Conference semifinals tonight when they host the Brooklyn Nets. Lips have flapped and tempers have flared in this series. Philly leads the best-of-seven, three games to one. A win tonight and the 76er’s move on to play Toronto. A Nets win and Game Six happens in Brooklyn on Thursday. Milwaukee and Boston are already set In the other conference semi.

Harrisburg continues its best start in franchise history. The Senators are 15-2 after beating Altoona again, 1-0.

And, in junior high soccer, Brynn Knepp scored six goals, five on assists from Aubrey Strohecker, in an 8-0 win over Pennsboro. East Penn beat the Husky boys, 3-1.
