The Nationals were down to their final strike, but Bryce Harper had one more swing on his mind. He drilled a three-run walk off home run to center for his second shot of the game, giving Washington a 6-4 win over the Phillies.

The Pirates cleaned up at Wrigley Field yesterday. The Cubs scored a run in the seventh, but the Bucs responded with three runs in the eighth, beating Chicago 6-1.

Edwin Espinal hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning, leading the Altoona Curve to a 2-1 win over the Akron RubberDucks on Saturday.

Raudy Read hit a two-run home run and had two hits, as the Harrisburg Senators exploded for a season-high seven extra-base hits beating the Bowie Baysox 7-4.

The Pittsburgh Penguins notched a 5-4 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round at Nationawide Arena. The Pens lead the series 3 games to none.

Mifflin County alumni Addison Monroe ran a phenomenal race in the 10,000-meter run finishing in 29:44.01 at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic. Monroe closed the last 400-meters in 64 seconds. That currently ranks Monroe No. 8 in NCAA DII and puts him No. 2 in LHU history.

The Juniata men’s volleyball team came out on top as the Eagles recovered from a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 and claim the CVC title. Juniata wins its third CVC crown overall and first since 2014. The team also receives the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Upstart driver Trent Brenneman of Port Royal turned in an impressive performance in the 22-lap super late model main at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, out-dueling Jeff Rine for the first victory of his career.
